Google's removal of Unlockd app from its Play Store may not meet bar for antitrust injury, US judge says

US District Judge Haywood Gilliam pressed a lawyer for Unlockd on case law supporting the company’s argument that Google’s decision could form the basis of a monopolization case, including the argument that it amounts to a “refusal to deal” with the company – and pointed to other cases concerning app store removals that federal courts had rejected.Google’s decision to remove advertising app Unlockd from its Play Store, and whether it caused an injury to competition that would allow an antitrust complaint against the tech giant to proceed, was the main focus of a hearing before a US judge in California today....
