Power Ventures asks Ninth Circuit to reverse decision in Facebook case over data access

( January 1, 2018, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Power Ventures filed its opening brief in its appeal of an order that found the company owes Facebook $79,640.50 in compensatory damages for violating the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, and $39,796.73 in discovery sanctions for misconduct during a deposition. Power Ventures says that the lower court’s decision on remand contradicts a mandate by the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and “created a further degree of inconsistency and vagueness with regard to how courts decide summary liability.”See document below....
