BHP Billiton reaches $25 million settlement agreement with SEC

( May 21, 2015, 14:48 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Anglo-Australian Mining conglomerate BHP Billiton announced that it has agreed to pay $25 million to resolve a SEC investigation into alleged violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). The charges relate to a hospitality programme the company offered during its sponsorship of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, whereby it provided luxury hotels, sightseeing and tickets to sixty foreign officials.
