US judge grants FTC's request to suspend Staples-Office Depot deal

( May 10, 2016, 22:40 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A federal judge on Tuesday granted the Federal Trade Commission’s request for a preliminary injunction to suspend the proposed merger of Staples and Office Depot. US District Judge Emmet Sullivan said the FTC has "met their burden of showing that there is a reasonable probability that the proposed merger will substantially impair competition in the sale and distribution of consumable office supplies to large Business-to-Business customers."See attached document....
