Computer glitch led to premature publication of merger decision, Australian regulator finds

( May 16, 2019, 05:28 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Market-sensitive information concerning a regulatory decision to oppose the merger between TPG Telecom and Vodafone Hutchison Australia remained online for eight minutes before being removed, according to an internal investigation carried out by the country’s competition regulator. In a statement issued today, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said the premature publication of the information on May 8 had been traced to a computer glitch, for which the regulator had expressed “deep regret.” The publication occurred at around 3PM, a day ahead of schedule and before trading on the stock market had closed for the day. “The information became public when ...
