German windfarm operator WPD wins backing from EIB, LBBW for Polish projects

( October 22, 2020, 14:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: German company WPD will get a financial boost of around 42 million euros to develop four windfarms in the Wielkopolskie region of Poland, the European Commission said today. The funds will come from Landesbank Baden-Württemberg and the European Investment Bank. The windfarms will have a total installed capacity of 102.5 megawatts, which can power more than 60,000 households at peak times, the commission said. “This is a tangible example of what the European Green Deal means for Polish citizens. With every investment of this kind, we take another step closer to our goal of making the EU climate-neutral by 2050,” the bloc’s economy chief Paolo Gentiloni said.Statement follows.
