Hearing report for Scandlines appeal of financing for Fehmarn Belt fixed link published by EU Court

( January 24, 2023, 09:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Scandlines is appearing today before judges in the EU's lower court to plead its case against the European Commission's reapproval of Danish public financing for the Fehmarn Belt fixed link, which connects Puttgarden, Germany, to Rødby, Denmark, via an undersea rail and road tunnel. In 2015, the court annulled the regulator's initial approval, saying it should have opened an in-depth probe. In 2020, the watchdog cleared the financing again. Scandlines' arguments include that the measures were not individual ad-hoc aid, the link was not in the European interest and the aid is disproportional. The court has published a report for today's hearing. The hearing report is attached. The case number is T-390/20 Scandlines Danmark, Scandlines Deutschland v Commission....
