France issues recommendations to advance with Capital Markets Union

The report was commissioned by finance minister Bruno Le Maire, who tasked Christian Noyer, the former governor of the national bank, with chairing a group of experts and putting forward an analysis on the steps forward for the CMU. At a conference today, Le Maire said the EU must be able to mobilize the savings from European consumers and attract more investment to confront the challenges of war, climate change and artificial intelligence. The four recommendations are: establishing a long-term savings product, reviving the securitization markets, establishing common supervision, and reducing post-settlement fragmentation.Report is attached....
