Washington state medical groups to pay up to $2.5 million, divest clinic in settlement with state AG

( May 13, 2019, 22:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The State of Washington, CHI Franciscan and The Doctors Group have asked US District Judge Benjamin Settle to grant approval to their settlement in the state's case alleging  that an affiliation between the two entities was an illegal price-fixing agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, CHI and The Doctors Group will pay up to $2.5 million, and CHI has also agreed to divest an outpatient clinic on the Kitsap Peninsula, near Seattle. Among several behaviorial remedies, The Doctors Group and CHI must also contract separately with insurance companies if asked.See document below....
