Mr. Pizza, Yanolja, four others fined by South Korean regulator for privacy violations

( April 25, 2024, 08:09 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Six South Korean companies including DSEN, Mr. Pizza, Yanolja F&B Solution, Funit, Hiplay and STG24, have been hit with fines totaling 197 million won (about $144,000) by the country’s regulator for failing to meet privacy-safeguard obligations. The Personal Information Protection Commission found that the companies did not implement required security measures and failed to promptly notify and report breaches involving personal information. The violations included exposure of administrator pages, improper public-access settings for data storage, mismanagement of event-winner information, and unauthorized access to personal data by hackers through administrator accounts.The statement, in Korean, is attached....
