Insurance brokers must offer products unbundled, disclose conflicts in EU Parliament bill

( February 26, 2014, 14:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Insurance brokers that sell insurance policies bundled with other goods or services would have to offer the same policies separately, under a draft law backed by the European Parliament today. The brokers must explain policies on offer and any potential conflicts of interest, such as the nature of their compensation, under the EU parliament’s version of the Insurance Mediation Directive. The bill would let national governments go further and require brokers to specify the amount of commission they earn on sales.The text of the statement follows....
