Proposals for EU antitrust exemption rules for automotive sector put out for consultation

( July 6, 2022, 10:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Draft proposals for future antitrust exemption rules applied to vertical agreements in the automotive sector have been put out for public consultation, the European Commission said. It wants to prolong the validity of current rules by five years and make targeted updates to the supplementary guidelines to address vehicle-generated data, which is an essential input for repair and maintenance services. The Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation is due to expire at the end of May next year. Interested parties have until Sept. 30 to submit comments.Press release follows....
