Orange, Jazztel deal cleared by EU regulator

( May 19, 2015, 10:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Orange’s plan to buy Spanish broadband provider Jazztel has been approved by the European Commission, subject to conditions. The EU regulator found the deal could lead to higher prices for fixed Internet access in Spain. To address these concerns the French telecom operator agreed to divest part of its fiber-optic network and offer wholesale access to its copper network to support the entry of a new competitor.The full press release follows....
