Paraguay’s port inspection bill for commodity control could create competition barriers, Conacom says

( July 5, 2022, 13:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A draft bill requiring that Paraguay’s customs zones and surveillance areas use scanners for commodity control purposes, if approved, should apply simultaneously to all ports in the country, the national competition authority said in an opinion. The National Competition Commission, or Conacom, concluded that the implementation must be done simultaneously in all ports, instead of staggered.
