Amazon, US FTC file list of issues to be addressed at proposed economics hearing for antitrust dispute

( October 2, 2024, 00:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Amazon and the US Federal Trade Commission have jointly filed a list of agreed-upon topics they would discuss during a proposed economics hearing for their antitrust dispute before a Washington federal court. Those topics include economic concepts relevant to the operation of Amazon’s store and how Amazon competes, as well as how economists define a relevant antitrust market. At a status conference in June for the case, US District Judge John Chun of the US Western District of Washington told attorneys for the FTC and Amazon that he wants to have an “Economics Day” when economists for both sides would explain their economic theories and how they are in conflict.See court filing. ...
