Celestron, others fail to convince US judge of total inadequacy of class counsel, class representatives for price-fixing litigation

Davila rejected the defendants' arguments regarding the adequacy of new class representatives Pioneer Cycling & Fitness and Aurora Astro Products but accepted their assertions that astronomy enthusiast Jason Steele was not a suitable representative. Noting that Steel during his deposition spoke primarily of his disappointment with the telescope’s functionality rather than issues with the price, Davila said it was "apparent that Steele may be a more adequate class representative for a defective product class action rather than the current antitrust class action."See order below. ...
