​FTC's Ohlhausen endorses Lenovo settlement, says agency correctly found no 'deceptive omission'

( September 5, 2017, 17:36 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Federal Trade Commission Acting Chairman Maureen Ohlhausen has submitted a statement disagreeing with Commissioner Terrell McSweeny's position that the agency should have alleged additional failures to disclose in its complaint against Lenovo. "Although VisualDiscovery's ad placement and effect on web browsing may have been irritating to many, those features did not make VisualDiscovery unfit for its intended use," Ohlhausen said. "Therefore, I do not find Lenovo's silence about those features to be a deceptive omission."See document below....
