Covid apps' privacy design had 'shortcomings,' report says

( October 12, 2020, 17:08 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Contact-tracing apps designed to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 have a "number of shortcomings in the protection of privacy and personal data," the Council of Europe has said in a report on 55 African, Latin American and European countries. The survey found that when applying the "privacy-by-design" principle, 26 jurisdictions chose a decentralized approach and 14 chose a centralized approach.
