UK watchdog seeks to dispel myths about data-breach reporting

( September 5, 2017, 15:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Companies would be mandated to alert data-protection regulators only to data breaches likely to result in a risk to people, once new EU privacy rules come into force next May, UK Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham said today. But the office won't expect to get comprehensive reports of incidents from the outset of their detection, she said. The UK regulator is working with other European privacy watchdogs on guidance about when businesses should report breaches.Full statement follows....
