Association of estate and rental agents, publisher face antitrust fines in UK

( May 8, 2015, 10:22 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority has imposed financial sanctions of more than 735,000 pounds on an association of estate and rental agents, three of its members and a newspaper publisher for anticompetitive practices between July 2005 and January 2014. Members of the trade association Three Counties entered into agreements to prevent other members — including themselves — from advertising their fees or discounts in a local newspaper.
