JFTC's new $113 million budget request includes online-platform enforcement office and staff

( August 30, 2019, 02:36 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Japan Fair Trade Commission will be setting up a new digital-economy office, staffed with a senior investigator and regulators specializing in digital-platform businesses. A 12 billion yen ($113 million) budget request — up 5.1 percent from the previous year — for the upcoming fiscal year, which runs April 2020 to March 2021, includes costs for an office and a senior investigator specializing in the digital economy.
