The relinquishment of four pairs of slots on three separate routes was decided by the Italian competition authority in July 2006 when the companies agreed to a merger. The transfer had been postponed due to ongoing legal actions surrounding the acquisition and the changing business climate, with particular regard to Alitalia's impending sale....
