DOJ delaying proceedings in Cigna merger case, Anthem tells judge

( July 28, 2016, 22:38 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Anthem needs a resolution of the US Department of Justice's challenge to its proposed merger with Cigna before the end of 2016 to allow for time to sort out remaining regulatory requirements, such as state approvals of the deal, before the companies' walkaway date of April 30, 2017, Anthem said in a court filing late Thursday. The DOJ is delaying proceedings and impeding Anthem's ability to prepare for trial, the insurer said.
