GAO report focuses on connected-vehicle privacy issues

( August 30, 2017, 17:04 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Government Accountability Office recently issued a report finding that 13 of the 16 selected automakers in its study sell connected vehicles, and those 13 reported collecting, using and sharing data on the cars' locations and operations. The report also said that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Federal Trade Commission are best positioned to protect the privacy of drivers of connected vehicles, though the NHTSA needs to clarify its roles and responsibilities for the privacy of vehicle data. See document below. ...
