KFTC considers resuming Google dominance abuse probe

( April 22, 2016, 04:53 GMT | Insight) -- The Korea Fair Trade Commission has decided to monitor Google for possible dominance abuses as it considers resuming a previous investigation of the search giant, Joongang Ilbo reports.The Korea Fair Trade Commission, or KFTC, has decided to monitor Google for possible dominance abuses as it considers resuming a previous investigation of the search giant, Joongang Ilbo reports. The KFTC's move comes after the European Commission filed formal antitrust accusations against Google for requiring mobile phone makers to preinstall Google software and for preventing the sale of mobile devices with competing operating systems. The KFTC conducted a probe of a similar issue and cleared Google of that allegation in 2013. A KFTC source was cited as saying that the agency was looking at the case again because the structure of the mobile industry had changed and also because the European Commission had found new allegations against the company....
