Vizio technology must be disclosed, journalism organization tells judge

( August 23, 2019, 22:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary:  Vizio is using "broad, generic language" to improperly make blanket claims that its technology for tracking the viewing history on its Internet-connected televisions can't be unsealed, the Center for Investigative Reporting told a federal judge. "Three years ago, this case initiated a national conversation about technological surveillance, one of the most controversial subjects of our time. After this has closed, Defendant fails to demonstrate a specific factual basis to justify continued sealing of the documents discussing the alleged past harms at issue in this case," the nonprofit investigative journlism organization told US District Judge Josephine Staton in the filing.See document below....
