Paris Court of Appeal slightly reduces antitrust fines for Razel and Sefi-Intrafor imposed for bid-rigging in the construction sector

( December 2, 2013, 16:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Paris appeals court has reduced fines imposed on construction companies Razel by 200,000 euros and Sefi-Intrafor by 120,000 euros to 3.8 million euros and 440,000 euros after the country's highest appeals court quashed an earlier decision by the court. The Cour de Cassation ruled in May 2012 that the Court of Appeal had misapplied rules on a 10-year limitation period. The fines were originally imposed in March 2006 when the French competition authority found that 34 construction companies had engaged in bid-rigging on public procurement contracts in the greater Paris area. Razel was initially fined 4 million euros and Sefi-Intrafor was penalized 560,000 euros.See the ruling attached....
