EU watchdog Buttarelli says data differences with US are ‘not so fundamental’

( May 4, 2015, 16:29 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A controversial trans-Atlantic data-transfer agreement represents an important attempt to bridge a divide between the EU and the US, Europe’s top data official said today. But the differences between the two privacy-protection systems “are not so fundamental,” European Data Protection Supervisor Giovanni Buttarelli said during a speech in Berlin.
