EC Statement: State aid - Commission reopens investigation into restructuring of Polish machinery producer Huta Stalowa Wola

( October 11, 2007, 09:50 GMT | Official Statement) -- Extract: The European Commission has launched an in-depth investigation to establish whether the modification of the restructuring plan of Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW), a Polish industrial machinery company, is compatible with EC Treaty state aid rules. The Commission authorised restructuring aid for HSW in 2006 (see IP/06/1874), but HSW modified its restructuring plan without notifying the change to the Commission.The European Commission has launched an in-depth investigation to establish whether the modification of the restructuring plan of Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW), a Polish industrial machinery company, is compatible with EC Treaty state aid rules.
