Directors disqualified in UK for rolled-lead cartel activity

( March 10, 2021, 10:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Three company directors have been disqualified by the UK Competition and Markets Authority, after it found they broke competition law by forming a cartel in the construction industry. In November, a CMA investigation found that two of the UK’s largest suppliers of rolled lead — Associated Lead Mills and HJ Enthoven (trading as BLM British Lead); both based in Hertfordshire, near London — broke the law four times by colluding on prices, sharing the rolled-lead market by arranging not to target certain customers, and arranging not to supply a new business because it risked disrupting the firms’ existing customer relationships. Jocelyn Campbell of BLM will be disqualified from serving as a director for six and a half years. Graham Hudson of ALM will be disqualified for four years, and his colleague Maurice Sherling for three years.Statement follows. The undertakings are attached....
