Judge dismisses Motorola claims based on purchases by foreign affiliates in LCD price-fixing suit

( January 23, 2014, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US District Judge Joan B. Gottschall has granted LCD manufacturers’ joint motion for reconsideration of a decision on a motion for summary judgment that allowed Motorola Mobility to go forward with its price-fixing claims based on purchases made by its foreign affiliates. Gottschall said that the Foreign Trade Antitrust Improvements Act barred the claims because they "do not arise from any domestic effect," as is required to come under the FTAIA's domestic injury exception, and dismissed the claims based on overseas purchases by Motorola's foreign affiliates.See document below....
