MLex Comment: France Télécom's TeliaSonera designs unlikely to hit antitrust snags

But horizontal overlaps, due to the parties' presently fairly complementary geographic activities, don't seem serious, and the case seems a good candidate for clearance without remedies.On 18 April France Télécom confirmed that it is looking at acquiring Nordic regional telecommunications company TeliaSonera, although as yet there are no official negotiations. If the transaction goes ahead, it would bring together two companies largely complementary in their geographic scope, with a marginal overlap in the mobile telephony market in Spain and in business data communications activities....
