Norwegian company receives GDPR fine over illegal access to ex-employee’s e-mail

( May 24, 2022, 15:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: An unidentified company has received a fine of 100,000 kroner (around $10,600) from the Norwegian data protection authority for violating the GDPR. The company had accessed a former employee's e-mail account by auto-forwarding all messages for around six weeks. The watchdog deemed this to be contrary to EU data-privacy rules, and said the company had failed to properly inform the employee about the data processing connected to his or her e-mail address, and also had failed to comply with a deletion request.
