G-20 trade ministers reach agreements on environmental goods, overcapacity

( July 10, 2016, 15:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Top trade officials of the G-20 met in Shanghai over the weekend, and announced a series of agreements including trade agreements, investments, and the Environmental Goods Agreement (EGA). 16 of the 20 countries represented at the G-20 meeting are a party to the EGA, which would eliminate tariffs on green technologies. These countries Australia, Canada, China, the European Union, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore, Turkey and the United States. Ministers also addressed overcapacity in the industrial sector and US Trade Representative Michael Froman added that, "the G-20 took an important step in the right direction by recognizing that excess capacity is a global issue."Statements follows in full:...
