Japanese economic revitalization minister Toshimitsu Motegi told reporters late Friday, after two days of talks with US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer in Washington, that they had advanced talks to achieve a good result soon, and that “the peak is in sight.” Motegi said the US showed a willingness to make some concession on Japan's opening of its auto market, while it continued to demand Japan’s removal or lowering of tariffs on US farm products. The two negotiators are expected to meet again this month, the newspaper said, after working-level officials discuss details on farm products and other pending issues....
