EU Commission sends charge sheet to Google on comparison-shopping service; opens probe into Android

( April 15, 2015, 10:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission has sent a formal antitrust charge sheet to Google, accusing the search engine of abusing its dominant position in the markets for general Internet research. The company is “systematically favoring” its own comparison-shopping product in its search-results pages, the regulator said in its Statement of Objections. The competition watchdog has also started a formal probe into Google’s conduct with respect to its mobile operating system Android, to see whether it has entered into illegal agreements or whether it abused its market power in the field of operating systems, applications and services for smart mobile devices.Full statement follows.
