State attorneys general side with US DOJ in appeal against Microsoft warrant decision

( July 27, 2017, 22:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A US appellate decision quashing a US warrant for data that Microsoft stores on a server in Ireland is interfering with law enforcement agencies' attempts to investigate and prosecute crimes in their jurisdictions, a group of 33 states and Puerto Rico told the Supreme Court. The attorneys general said in an amicus brief that they support the Justice Department's position that a Second Circuit panel erred when it said that the extraterritorial warrant was impermissible under the Stored Communications Act.Please see attached document....
