Media blocked from becoming parties to Google 'Right To Be Forgotten' case

( March 1, 2019, 21:51 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A judicial official with the Federal Court of Canada, Mireille Tabib, has blocked the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and of the Media Coalition from becoming parties to a Google case, saying the only impact of the decision will be to determine whether the privacy commissioner may investigate whether Canada's data protection bill — the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act — confirs on Canadians a "right to  be forgotten" in Google's search results. "The media parties are neither intended nor required to be bound by that result," said Tabib, a Prothonotary of the Federal Court.See attached order....
