South Korean ex-president and confidante face court summons in Samsung corruption appeal

The two key witnesses are tentatively expected to be summoned on Dec. 13 and 20, but it is unclear whether they will appear in court to testify. Park was summoned during Lee’s first trial but refused to testify, citing health and other reasons. Choi was summoned three times but appeared in court only once and frequently exercised her right to refuse to answer questions fielded by prosecutors and the defense....
