Veolia, Engie settle gun-jumping probe in Brazil

( May 25, 2022, 17:28 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Paris-based Veolia and French utility firm Suez have signed a settlement agreement with the Brazilian competition authority, under which they agreed to pay 60 million reais ($12.36 million) for failing to notify the agency of Veolia's acquisition of a minority stake in rival Suez from Engie. Before acquiring French water and waste-management company Suez, Veolia bought a minority stake in the company but allegedly failed to notify the Administrative Council for Economic Defense of the transaction in a timely fashion.CADE press release follows in Portuguese....
