Leaked offshore records from Panama law firm Mossack Fonseca may offer new information for Petrobras probes

( April 4, 2016, 19:06 GMT | Insight) -- The Panama Papers investigative journalism project examining a cache of 11.5 million leaked offshore financial records from f Panama-based law firm Mossack Fonseca's database is expected to offer new information for Brazilian authorities looking into the corruption scandal at Petróleo Brasileiro, or Petrobras. The firm's offices in Brazil were the target of petrobras probe raids in January, and authorities allege that individuals involved in the corruption scheme at the state-controlled oil giant used Mossack Fonseca to open offshore companies that were later used to conceal illegal proceeds.  The leaked database records dating from 1977 to 2015 that were made public this week by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists indicate that Mossack Fonseca was behind the creation of at least 107 offshore entities linked to 57 individuals or companies related to Petrobras case.Read the article (in Portuguese) via the link below. ...
