US auto industry endorses White House executive order on supply chains

"The recent shortage of semiconductor chips for automotive manufacturing has highlighted the need to reinvigorate advanced manufacturing here in the United States," said Safavian, whose group was part of a coalition that urged the president to fund initiatives in the CHIPS for America Act, enacted as part of the fiscal year 2021 National Defense Authorization Act.
