Brickmaker cartelists charged with price-fixing in South Africa

( July 5, 2017, 15:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Six brickmakers have been charged with price-fixing in South Africa. Corobrik, Era Bricks, Eston Brick and Tile, De Hoop Brickfields, Clay Industry and Kopano Brickworks were charged by the country's Competition Commission. The regulator opened its probe in April this year. Corobrik entered into separate bilateral agreements with each company, allocating specific products and customers. It agreed with Era Bricks that it would sell its products to Corobrik who would then sell to customers in the open market. The full text of the statement is below:...
