( September 13, 2010, 08:51 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: French competition watchdog, l'Autorité de la Concurrence, has published its decision to carry out an in-depth investigation into plans by transport service companies Veolia Transport and Transdev to merge and create a joint venture, Veolia Transdev. Transdev is controlled by French state bank Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDC), while Veolia Transport is owned by French conglomerate Veolia Environnement. The regulator has stated concerns regarding significant overlaps of activities in France in the urban and interurban public transport markets outside Ile-de-France (IDF) region and transport in the Ile-de-France market, which could lead to unilateral effects and coordinated effects.Please find the full decision in original French attached below:...
