Facebook faces suit from Robert F. Kennedy Jr. group claiming Section 230 abuses on vaccine-post warnings

( August 18, 2020, 00:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Children's Health Defense, which opposes childhood vaccination, and founder Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are challenging Facebook's legal protection under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act to place misinformation warnings on posts by the group. Kennedy and CHD allege that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg acted after US Representative Adam Schiff of California threatened to introduce legislation to remove Facebook’s Section 230 immunity "unless Facebook implemented algorithms to 'distinguish' and suppress 'vaccine misinformation.'"  Kennedy's complaint alleges "Facebook killed two birds with one stone: Facebook delivered what Rep. Schiff had forcefully requested — the 'vaccine misinformation' campaign — which in turn would help it achieve the continued preservation of its desired Section 230 immunity," Kennedy and CHD said in the complaint, which also alleges wire fraud and constitutional violations by Facebook.See attached complaint....
