Alabama bill introduced to maintain state action immunity for professional boards, commissions

( February 2, 2016, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A bill has been introduced in the Alabama Senate requiring that the rules of a state board or commission that regulates a profession be reviewed by the Legislative Reference Service to determine whether they may significantly lessen competition. The LRS will determine whether such rules were made pursuant to a clearly articulated state policy to displace competition, as required by existing law in order for the actions of such entities to be immune from antitrust law. See document below. ...
