Romanian antitrust enforcer reports a busy year in 2023

( February 13, 2024, 14:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Romanian competition authority has released its activity report for 2023, which it called a busy year with the opening of 24 competition probes and the carrying-out of 20 surprise visits. The watchdog said today that of all the investigations started last year, most concerned cartel-type arrangements. The authority also completed 14 antitrust investigations and imposed fines totaling 160 million lei ($35 million), of which more than 70 percent were imposed for cartel conduct.
