Apple says NSO not immune to claims in US court

( April 18, 2022, 21:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: NSO Group Technologies is a 21st-century mercenary company that's has created sophisticated cyber-surveillance machinery targeting Apple, a US company based in California, and therefore should have to face claims in that jurisdiction, Apple told a federal judge. Apple opposed a motion to dismiss claims that NSO illegally accessed the operating system on individual users’ Apple devices without authorization. “Private companies engaged in computer fraud and abuse for profit have no claim to the immunity that US law grants to foreign states for their sovereign acts,” Apple argued.
