EDF, Engie, La Poste, CDC get EU approval for joint antifraud and certification platform

( August 12, 2020, 14:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission has cleared the plan by France-based organizations EDF, Engie, La Poste and Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations to create a joint antifraud and certification platform. The Archipels platform is intended to help banks, insurers and other companies to detect payment fraud and certify individuals’ gas and electricity invoices through blockchain technology. The commission said the proposed concentration wouldn't raise any competition concerns, particularly because EDF and Engie would be unlikely to block access to information about their invoices in order to prevent other energy suppliers from offering a rival address-verification service.Press release follows in French....
