CMA endorses government’s commitment to monitor the impact of new bank-tax regime

( February 26, 2016, 16:38 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK antitrust regulator has published a working paper on its assessment of the potential competition impact of a new corporate tax surcharge and tax levy on banks and building societies. The Competition and Markets Authority found that “compared with the pre-2016 position, the tax advantages of smaller banks including new entrants have been reduced as a result of the changes.”  The regulator endorsed the UK government’s commitment to keep under review the impact of the bank-tax regime on smaller banks and new entrants.Please find the document attached below:...
